About Solaura
What is Solaura?
Solaura is a home fragrance brand offering a premium waterless cold-air diffuser and a curated collection of five designer-inspired fragrance oils. We believe your environment shapes how you feel, and we design products to help create spaces that feel as good as they smell.
What makes Solaura different from other fragrance brands?
Three things: (1) We use waterless cold-air technology — no water, no heat, no mist. Just pure scent. (2) Our oils are refillable and non-proprietary — unlike cartridge-based systems, you're not locked into a subscription. (3) We're founder-run — every email reaches an actual person, and we care about every order.
Where are your products made?
Our diffuser hardware and fragrance oils are manufactured overseas by long-established fragrance and hardware manufacturers with a track record of producing scent products for the hospitality industry. The Solaura brand, formulation direction, and customer experience are designed and managed in the United States.
Is Solaura available in stores?
Not yet. Solaura is currently direct-to-consumer only at solaura4u.com. If you'd like to see us in your favorite retailer, let us know at hello@solaura4u.com.
Do you sell on Amazon?
Our products are stored in Amazon's fulfillment network to enable fast shipping, but we don't list them for sale on the Amazon marketplace. All Solaura purchases are made at solaura4u.com.

Your Diffuser
What kind of diffuser is this?
The Solaura diffuser is a waterless cold-air atomizing diffuser. It uses pressurized air (not water or heat) to break oil into ultra-fine droplets that fill the air with scent without steam or mist.
Do I need to add water?
No. This is a waterless diffuser. You add fragrance oil directly to the built-in reservoir — that's it. There is no water tank.
How is this different from an ultrasonic diffuser?
Ultrasonic diffusers use water and vibrations to create a visible mist. Cold-air diffusers like Solaura use only pure oil, no water, and produce a stronger, longer-lasting scent throw without adding humidity to the room. Cold-air is the technology used by many premium hotel scenting systems.
How large of a room does it cover?
Up to approximately 500 square feet under typical conditions. Coverage depends on room layout, ceiling height, ventilation, and setting level. For open-concept spaces, we recommend placing the diffuser closer to the seating area for best effect.
Is it cordless?
Yes. The diffuser has a built-in rechargeable 18650 lithium-ion battery. Charge it fully with the included USB-C cable, then take it anywhere — nightstand, bathroom counter, office, patio.
How long does the battery last?
On a full charge, expect approximately 6–10 hours of continuous use depending on your intensity setting. Battery life gradually decreases over time (typical for all rechargeable batteries).
How do I charge it?
Use the included USB-C cable to connect the diffuser to any standard USB power source (wall adapter, laptop, portable battery). A full charge takes 3–4 hours.
Can I use it while it's charging?
Yes. The diffuser can operate normally while plugged in.
Is it noisy?
Solaura runs at under 34 decibels — quieter than a whisper. It's safe for use in bedrooms, nurseries, and offices without disturbing sleep or focus.
Does it have app or remote control?
Yes. The diffuser can be controlled with the included wireless remote or paired with our mobile app for advanced scheduling, intensity control, and timer settings.
Does it have an ambient light?
Yes. The diffuser features a soft ambient light that can be toggled on or off independently of the scent function.
What's the diffuser made of?
The housing is aluminum alloy with a matte black powder-coated finish. It's built to feel substantial and stand up to years of daily use.
How large is the diffuser?
The diffuser measures approximately 3.4″ wide × 3.4″ deep × 11.5″ tall and weighs about 1.75 lbs.
How long does one bottle of oil last in the diffuser?
Under typical use (30–60 minutes per day at medium intensity), a 100mL bottle lasts approximately 6–8 weeks. A 200mL bottle lasts approximately 12–16 weeks.
How do I clean my diffuser?
Every 2–4 weeks (or when switching scents), unscrew the oil reservoir, empty any remaining oil, and wipe the interior with a soft cloth lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Let dry completely before refilling. Never submerge the diffuser in water.
Can I use non-Solaura oils in my diffuser?
The diffuser is engineered specifically for our cold-air oil formulations. Using pure essential oils or oils from other brands may damage the atomizer or void your warranty. We designed the oils to work with the hardware — using them together gives the best experience.
What's inside the box?
One matte black Solaura diffuser, USB-C charging cable, wireless remote control (with battery included), a scent guide insert card, and a welcome note from the founder.

The Fragrance Oils
What scents do you offer?
We currently offer five scents in our launch collection: Solstice (bright citrus), Reverie (chypre floral), Forge (fresh fougère), Orchard (fruity), and Ember (spicy woody).
What sizes do the oils come in?
Every scent is available in 100mL and 200mL bottles.
Are these essential oils?
No. Solaura oils are premium fragrance oils — designer-inspired blends formulated specifically for use in home diffusers. Pure essential oils don't perform well in cold-air diffusion systems (short scent throw, quick evaporation). Our fragrance oil formulations are longer-lasting, more complex, and safer for the diffuser hardware.
Are your oils safe?
Yes. All Solaura fragrance oils are IFRA-compliant, free of phthalates, parabens, and undisclosed synthetic musks. Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available on request for any scent.
Are your oils cruelty-free?
Yes. We do not test our fragrance oils on animals, and neither do our manufacturing partners.
Are your oils vegan?
Yes. None of our fragrance oil formulations contain animal-derived ingredients.
Are the oils safe around pets?
Our fragrance oils are formulated for diffusion into the air only, not for direct application to skin, ingestion, or contact with pets. As with all home fragrances, we recommend placing the diffuser in a well-ventilated area and ensuring pets can leave the room if they want to. Cats can be particularly sensitive to certain fragrance compounds — consult your veterinarian if you have concerns.
Are the oils safe around children?
Keep bottles tightly closed and out of reach of children. The diffused fragrance in the air is not harmful at typical levels, but the concentrated oil in the bottle should never be ingested or applied to skin.
Can I use these oils on my skin?
No. Our fragrance oils are formulated for diffusion only, not for topical use. Do not apply to skin, hair, or clothing.
Can I mix scents?
Yes. Feel free to combine oils in the diffuser or run multiple diffusers with different scents in different rooms. Some pairings work beautifully — try Solstice + Reverie for a bright, floral daytime blend.
How long do the oils last on the shelf?
Unopened, our oils have a shelf life of approximately 2 years when stored in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and extreme heat. Once opened, we recommend using within 18 months for best scent quality.
Do the oils change color or thicken over time?
Some slight color deepening is normal, especially for oils with vanilla, tobacco, or amber notes (like Ember). This does not affect performance or safety. If you notice significant thickening or separation, contact us.
Can I get a sample first?
We're working on a discovery sampler program for future releases. For now, our Discovery Set is the best way to try all five scents at launch (see Bundles & Sets).
Which scent should I start with?
It depends on the mood you're after: Solstice is bright and energizing (great for mornings). Reverie is soft and floral (evening or bedroom). Forge is fresh and grounding (great for workspaces). Orchard is playful and fruity (kitchens or common areas). Ember is warm and cozy (living rooms in colder months).
Which scent is best for sleep?
Many customers find Reverie and Ember especially relaxing for evening use. However, scent preference is highly personal — what soothes one person may energize another.
Which scent is best for focus / work?
For workspaces, we recommend Solstice (citrus is naturally uplifting) or Forge (fresh and clean without being distracting).

Bundles & Sets
What's in the Starter Set?
The Starter Set ($99) includes one diffuser plus one 100mL bottle of your choice of scent. Perfect for first-time customers who want to try Solaura with a single scent.
What's in the Signature Set?
The Signature Set ($139) includes one diffuser plus two 200mL bottles of your choice of scents. Ideal for customers who already know they want meaningful quantities of a couple of scents.
What's in the Discovery Set?
The Discovery Set ($179) includes one diffuser plus one 100mL bottle of every scent (all five). It's our best-value bundle for anyone who wants to experience the full Solaura collection at once.
Can I customize a bundle?
For the Starter and Signature Sets, you choose which scents you want during checkout. The Discovery Set has a fixed composition (one of each of the five scents) to preserve its "try everything" experience.
Do bundles include the warranty?
Yes — and better bundles include better warranty coverage: Starter Set includes the standard 1-year warranty. Signature Set includes a 2-year warranty (a $15 value). Discovery Set includes a 3-year warranty (a $25 value).
Can I upgrade or add items to my bundle after ordering?
Once an order is placed, we can't modify the bundle contents. However, you can place a separate additional order at any time. If your original order hasn't shipped yet, email us at hello@solaura4u.com and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Are bundle savings limited-time?
No — our bundle pricing is our standard everyday pricing. We don't run temporary bundle promotions because we believe in transparent, consistent value.

Ordering & Payment
How do I place an order?
Visit solaura4u.com, choose your products, click "Add to Cart," and check out. If you have a discount code, enter it at checkout.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. Payment is processed by Shopify Payments and other PCI-compliant processors. We never see or store your full credit card number.
Can I place an order over the phone?
Not at this time. All orders are placed through solaura4u.com. If you need help completing an order, email us at hello@solaura4u.com and we'll walk you through it.
Do I need an account to order?
No. Guest checkout is available. However, creating a free account lets you track orders, save your address, and access order history for warranty claims.
Can I cancel or change my order?
If your order hasn't shipped, we can usually cancel or modify it. Email hello@solaura4u.com immediately with your order number. Once an order has shipped, we cannot cancel it — but you can still return it under our return policy.
Why was my order canceled?
The most common reasons are: (1) a payment processing issue with your bank, (2) an incorrect or undeliverable shipping address, or (3) suspected fraud detected by our fraud prevention system. If your order was canceled, you'll receive an email explanation and your payment will be refunded promptly.
Will I receive an order confirmation?
Yes. Immediately after placing your order, you'll receive a confirmation email with your order number, items ordered, and total. When your order ships, you'll receive a second email with tracking information.
I didn't receive my order confirmation email — what should I do?
Check your spam or promotions folder first. If it's not there, email hello@solaura4u.com with the name and email address you used at checkout, and we'll resend it.
Can I add a gift message?
At this time, we don't offer a gift message field at checkout. However, our packaging is designed for beautiful unboxing, and we include a founder's welcome card in every order. If you'd like us to include a special note, email hello@solaura4u.com after placing your order.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Not currently — but our diffuser retail box and oil labels are designed to feel like a gift on their own.

Shipping
How much does shipping cost?
Standard shipping is free on orders over $50. Orders under $50 have a flat $7 shipping fee. Expedited 2-day shipping is available for $15 flat on any order.
How long does shipping take?
Standard shipping is 5–7 business days (most orders arrive sooner). Expedited shipping is 2 business days. Orders placed before 2:00 PM ET ship the same business day.
Do you ship internationally?
Not yet. We currently ship within the United States only (including Hawaii and Alaska). International expansion is on our roadmap — subscribe to our newsletter for updates.
Can I ship to a PO Box?
Diffuser-only orders can ship to PO Boxes via USPS. Orders containing fragrance oils cannot ship to PO Boxes because the oils are classified as flammable liquid hazmat and must ship via ground carrier (UPS/FedEx), which does not deliver to PO Boxes.
Can I ship to APO / FPO / DPO addresses?
Diffuser-only orders can ship to military addresses via USPS. Orders containing fragrance oils cannot ship to APO/FPO/DPO addresses due to hazmat restrictions.
What carriers do you use?
Orders ship via UPS Ground or USPS through Amazon's Multi-Channel Fulfillment network. The specific carrier depends on your destination.
How do I track my order?
When your order ships, you'll receive an email with a tracking number and link. You can also check status by logging into your account at solaura4u.com.
My tracking says delivered but I didn't receive it — what do I do?
First, check with neighbors and any household members. Look for the package in unusual delivery spots (side door, garage, mail room). If it's still missing 48 hours after "delivered" status, email hello@solaura4u.com and we'll investigate and make it right.
My order is late — what happens?
If your order is significantly delayed, we apply store credit as an apology: $15 credit for standard shipping 4–7 days late, $20 credit + free replacement if 8+ days late. For expedited orders that arrive late, we automatically refund the $15 expedited fee.
What if my package appears lost?
If your tracking shows no movement for 7 or more business days, we treat the package as lost in transit. Email us and we'll ship a replacement at no cost, plus issue $25 in store credit for your patience.
Why is my package shipping from Amazon?
We use Amazon's Multi-Channel Fulfillment to store our inventory and get orders to you as fast as Prime shipping. Your order was placed at Solaura, and it will arrive in our packaging — but Amazon's logistics network handles the physical shipping.
Can I combine orders to save on shipping?
If you place two orders in quick succession before the first has shipped, email hello@solaura4u.com. We'll do our best to combine them and refund any duplicate shipping cost.

Returns & Refunds
What's your return policy?
We accept returns of unopened items within 30 days of delivery. Return shipping is free (we email you a prepaid label). No restocking fees. Ever.
Can I return an opened item?
Unfortunately, no. Once a diffuser has been used or an oil bottle has been opened, we can't sell it again to a new customer in good conscience. This is industry-standard policy for personal care and home fragrance items.
What if my product is defective?
Defective items are handled under our warranty policy, not returns. See the Warranty section. We'll ship a replacement quickly at no cost.
What if my package arrives damaged?
Email hello@solaura4u.com within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage. We'll ship a replacement immediately at no cost, and you don't need to return the damaged item.
How do I initiate a return?
Email hello@solaura4u.com with your order number and reason for the return. We'll respond within 24 hours with a prepaid return shipping label. Drop the package at any UPS or USPS location.
How long do I have to return an item?
30 days from the delivery date shown in your tracking.
When will I receive my refund?
Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5 business days of our receiving the returned items. Depending on your bank, it may take an additional 2–5 business days to appear on your statement.
Can I exchange an item?
We don't offer direct exchanges. If you'd like a different item, please return the original for a refund and place a new order for the item you want.
Can I return a bundle?
Yes — if all items in the bundle are still unopened and in original packaging. If any item has been opened, the bundle becomes non-refundable.
Do I have to pay for return shipping?
No. We provide a prepaid return shipping label for all accepted returns.
Is there a restocking fee?
No. We never charge a restocking fee.

Warranty
Is there a warranty on the diffuser?
Yes. Every Solaura diffuser comes with a 1-year limited warranty at no additional cost.
What does the warranty cover?
Manufacturing defects, battery failure, power adapter failure, and mechanical failures (mist generator, motor, internal components) under normal household use.
What's NOT covered?
Accidental damage, water damage from misuse, pet damage, cosmetic wear, or use outside of the product's intended residential setting.
How do I file a warranty claim?
Email hello@solaura4u.com with your order number and a brief description of the issue (a photo or short video is helpful but not required). We respond within 24 hours.
Do I need to return the defective item?
In most cases, no. We'll ship a replacement without requiring you to return the defective unit.
What if my diffuser dies on day 1?
That falls under our DOA (dead on arrival) policy. Any diffuser that fails in the first 14 days ships a replacement via 2-day expedited shipping at no cost, no questions asked.
Can I buy extended warranty?
Yes. Add 1 year of extended coverage for $15, or 2 years for $25, at checkout. Extended warranty can also be added within 30 days of delivery.
Does the warranty transfer if I gift the diffuser?
Yes. The warranty is tied to the original purchase order, not the individual. As long as the recipient has (or can access) the original order number, they can file a warranty claim.
Do you honor warranty claims after the warranty period?
Not typically — but we're a small brand that cares about long-term customers. Contact us and we'll consider each case individually.

Discounts & Promotions
Do you have any current sales?
We don't run frequent sitewide sales. Our belief is that consistent honest pricing serves customers better than trained-to-wait discount cycles. However, we do offer targeted discounts — see below.
How do I get 10% off my first order?
Sign up for our email list at solaura4u.com. You'll receive a 10% off code for your first order.
What is EARLY15?
EARLY15 is our launch promotion — 15% off your first order, available during our first 30 days or until 100 people have used it (whichever comes first). If you're on our waitlist, you get first access to this code before it expires.
Can I combine discount codes?
No. One discount code per order. If you have multiple codes, use the one that offers the biggest savings on your specific order.
Do you have a subscription program?
A subscribe-and-save program for refill oils is coming in the months after launch. Subscribers will save 15% on every oil refill order with no lock-in commitment.
Do you have a referral program?
A referral program is planned for after launch. Share Solaura with friends and get store credit when they order.
Do you offer a discount for military, first responders, or students?
We're working on setting these up. Email hello@solaura4u.com and we'll let you know when available.
Do you price match?
Since our products are sold exclusively at solaura4u.com, price matching doesn't apply.
I forgot to use my discount code — can you apply it retroactively?
If your order hasn't shipped yet, email hello@solaura4u.com and we'll apply the discount and refund the difference. Once an order has shipped, discounts can't be applied retroactively.

Care, Safety & Use
Where should I place my diffuser?
Any flat, stable surface at least a few feet away from soft furnishings and electronics. Common spots: nightstand, bathroom counter, office desk, entryway console, or living room side table.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
Yes. The diffuser is safe in humid environments as long as it's not directly exposed to water. Don't place it in the shower splash zone.
Can I take it in my car?
Yes — cordless operation makes it portable. Just don't leave it in a hot car for extended periods (temperature above 100°F can degrade the battery and oil).
Can I take it on an airplane?
The diffuser itself contains a lithium-ion battery, which airlines require to be in carry-on luggage only (not checked baggage). Fragrance oils count as liquids, so they must comply with TSA 3-1-1 rules (under 3.4 oz per bottle, in a quart-sized bag).
Is the diffuser waterproof?
No. It's designed for indoor residential use, not for submersion or heavy outdoor exposure.
Can I use it outdoors?
Yes for temporary use (patio, deck, outdoor gathering). Bring it inside afterward — leaving it exposed to weather will damage it.
What's the ideal room temperature?
Standard indoor temperatures (60–85°F / 15–29°C). Extreme heat or cold can affect diffuser performance and oil quality.
How do I store extra bottles of oil?
Keep them tightly capped in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and extreme heat. A closet, drawer, or cabinet works well. Avoid storing near a stove, heater, window, or garage.
What if my diffuser stops producing scent?
First, check the oil reservoir — it may need refilling. If it's full and still not diffusing, unscrew the reservoir, wipe the atomizer nozzle with a soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol (in case of oil buildup), and try again. If that doesn't resolve it, contact hello@solaura4u.com — may be a warranty issue.
The scent seems weaker than when I first got it — why?
Two possibilities: (1) You've been in the room long enough that your nose has adapted to the scent (this is called olfactory fatigue — totally normal). Step out for 10 minutes and come back to test. (2) The oil is running low or the atomizer needs cleaning.
Can I run the diffuser overnight?
Yes. Many customers set it on a timer or low-intensity setting for overnight use. It's designed to run quietly and safely for extended periods.
Is it safe to leave the diffuser plugged in continuously?
Yes. The USB-C circuit is designed with overcharge protection. However, we recommend unplugging during extended absences (vacations, etc.) as a general safety precaution.
What should I do if oil spills inside the diffuser?
Turn off and unplug immediately. Wipe up the spill with a soft, dry cloth. If oil has entered the electronic components, contact us for guidance — may be a warranty situation.

Account & Privacy
Do I need an account to shop?
No. Guest checkout is fully supported. Creating a free account gives you order tracking, saved addresses, and easier warranty claims.
How do I create an account?
Click "Sign In" at the top of solaura4u.com and choose "Create Account." Enter your email and a password. Done.
I forgot my password — how do I reset it?
Click "Sign In," then "Forgot Password?" Enter your email and we'll send you a reset link.
How do I opt out of marketing emails?
Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any Solaura marketing email. You'll be removed within minutes. You'll still receive transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates).
Do you sell my personal information?
No. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your data.
What personal info do you collect?
For orders: your name, email, shipping address, billing address, and payment method (processed securely; we never see your full card number). For marketing: your email and how you engage with our emails. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
Is your website secure?
Yes. We use HTTPS encryption, PCI-compliant payment processors, and industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
How do I delete my account and data?
Email hello@solaura4u.com with subject "Delete My Account" from the email address associated with your account. We'll process the request within 30 days.
Do you use cookies?
Yes — for basic site functionality, remembering your cart, analyzing site performance, and (with your consent) advertising personalization. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some site features may not work properly.
If I'm a California resident, do I have additional privacy rights?
Yes. California residents have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
